I just want to say to anyone thinking of switching to 3 mobile...DON'T DO IT!!!!

....unless that is you enjoy getting spam text messages every single day of the week when your in meetings, despite ringing them up and telling them you don't want their spam! Oh, and their version of the 'internet' is an extortionate joke that goes removes every good aspect of the internet such as FREE INFORMATION and replaces it with 10p to see a news item, £3.00 or whatever for wallpapers, ringtones and soft porn. I am utterly distgusted with 3 Mobile.

Don't have that problem with them, find the video calling great when working away from home, but there may be better service providers out there.

Never had a problem with them. Miles better than my experiences with Vodafone and Orange.

Three certainly seem to be expensive. Am not having the same level of tech harassment as you though, but IMHO all the mobile phone companies are shite and it's simply a matter of which brown colour lick stick you find the least offensive. Keep smiling and merry xmas.

Vodafone will never get my custom, ever again. I was truly disgusted with their service and told them so.

I'm with O2 now and I'm far happier and my bill has been reduced by £30 per month.

Are you telling me you don't keep getting these 3alerts MMS's? I get at least one per day telling me all about how I can give them even more of my money by subscribing to the various services that seem to be free on every other network.

Yes, it has video calling. Its 3G. Do you expect any less??? I wouldn't be congratulating them because I can make a phonecall, why should you be congratulating them because you can make a videocall? Its 3G for godsake.

I would expect that a 3G network ought to allow access to the internet. Not THEIR version of the internet where they try to extort you at every possible opportunity, only allowing you to see THEIR approved content and charging you per item viewed at a minimum of 10p (which SOON mounts up). Its no less than daylight robbery.

Fair enough.

Afraid so. All the other providers are very close to going commercial with UMTS. They hopefully will not use the "walled garden" approach for data, and will force 3 to follow suit.

I wouldn't go near 3 for this very reason.

An Indian gentleman (by the name of 'Dave', if I remember) called me the other day with e fantastic offer from 3 Mobile. Apparently I would get thousands of free texts, millions of free minutes and free internet access thrown in. It sounded fairly good.

Sadly he couldn't do me a deal with a Nokia 6310i handset ("But Sir, they don't even have colour screens...", so I lost interest fairly quickly.

If your 'spam' does not come from 3 then there is nothing they can do. It is up to you to stop it happening by sending 'STOP' to the number the messages are coming from. If however 3 are sending their '3Alerts' then yes, they should be the ones to stop these...

Nope. Never had an alert. Or maybe possibly one or two.

Ah, the 6310i.

Now that's a Real Man's mobile phone.

I had a cracker of a deal with 3 (as posted earlier). I have previously had all other networks for my business and they are all as bad as each other tbh.

You can turn off your multimedia messages its just a setting in your 'My 3'. I rang customer services and they told me how to do it and now I don't get them

I currently get 750 anytime x network minutes and 150 txts for about £12 pm. Reception is perfect. Also my g/f has gone home to France for xmas and it costs her 25p to text me, then I call her and its free. As of January I will be selling 3 mobile as an additional business, I was that impressed with them.

Probably. Not really thought that far ahead yet! I think it'll be the Thursday, if any day.

I think Three are O.K., the old Motorola handset I had was useless, battery life was a joke but the new Nokia is brilliant and where else can you get 750 minutes any network, any time plus 100 texts for £35.00 per month.

Don't get any spam either.

I thankfully ended my horrible association with three last week when I cancelled my contract.

I wont go into how many thing went wrong as it would take up all the space on the forum, but one of the things that really got to me is when the phone stopped charging, they sent me a battery and it still didnt work, they then tried to send me a bill to repair the phone as they reckon I had "damaged" it - all I did was plug the charger in

After threatening with prosecution, they finally relented and sent me a new phone, and that still didnt work properly
