Someone posted a link to a site recently, with HD format videos which could be downloaded - has anyone got the link?
I cant see HD running on my new telly

And when are the HD DVD's expected to hit shelves in the UK, to which I add - im assuming it will it be possible to buy a DVD player which plays both the HDDVD and Blueray formats?

Gosh, golly, goodness and gadzooks... what a coincidence!! A friend of mine has just walked in this very second with another question, just before I clicked post new topic. How lucky is that!

Well, aforementioned friend is interested in colour reproduction and flesh tones, and purely on his behalf you understand, does anyone where we can download any [nudge]other videos[/wink] in HD format, which we can [ahem]download off the net[/cough] and try out on the telly

I bought an HD DVD a few months back. It came with 2 DVD's - standard format and HD. The quality of the HD is stunning, but I can only play it on the PC with Windows Media Player, not my lounge DVD player.

"Official" next gen high def video DVD format has not been established yet (You may have heard something in the news/on the web about Blu-Ray versus HD-DVD - that's what it is all about).

The only way to, currently, get high def into your TV is through either a WMV style file that you play through a computer to the TV or through satellite/cable high def video feed.

Pity your *cough* "friend" doesn't live in the US. Digital cable here carries around 40 or so "adult" channels on a pay per view basis. Just about every premium movie channel also has a high def twin as well. Nothing like getting 1080i plus theatre quality surround

I have a dvd player which plays every imaginable format including mpeg. I figured if it plays mpeg, I just need to find an mpeg file, burn it to cd/dvd and stick it in to see what hd video looks like on my new telly. Xbox 360 looks unreal, but its not exactly film footage. I woulnt be able to fit an entire movie on a regular dvd but it would cool to see the result.

Does anyone know if DVD players are available anywhere, which will play both hddvd and blueray formats?
