Given the Gospel stories, I've always thought of Jesus Christ as being of Mediterannean (sp), Arab or Jewish appearance. This to me seems a perfectly reasonable and fairly logical conclusion or supposition. I'm also quite content to subscribe to the notion that he was probably born around 2005years ago (+/- 33).

So who is this black Jesus who appears in the timeline that's repeatedly posted when someone mistakenly duplicates an earlier post or thread? Is he one and the same, or is there something I've failed to grasp or have not been told?

He was in that Madonna video.

Also in the caribbean black people eat lot of shark and bake, which is like the fish and bread Jesus used to feed people.

Interesting picture of Jesus in the chapel of Christ's College, Cambridge. Painted by an African artist who painted what he knew. In it, Jesus is black. I suspect the historical figure Jesus was of arabic appearance.

I think we can safely assume he was half Jewish (as Mary was Jewish).

What his dad (God) looks like has been a matter for some discussion.

I'd guess at an arab colour to but that could be anything from quite light to an almost black skin.

That a bloke called Jesus lived and was excecuted isnt under much dispute thesedays I didnt think, the rest could be artistic licence tho.

Very hard to accept that given the (admittedly confused)
documentary evidence, that Jesus wasn't a bone-fide individual
living at the time.

Presumably, a *completely* water-tight case for him
being the son of God would be determined by DNA
evidence. Baggsy not being the poor sod who has
to demand a tissue swab from the big bloke upstairs -
rumour has it He can be vengeful and jealous at times.

Perhaps it refers to His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, though that doesn't seem to fit with the implication that it was an event in the ancient past.

(Where does that timeline pic originate from anyway? "Timeline" on Google images doesn't find it within a reasonable number of results.)

Think you're certainly wrong with that statement, he definately existed but wasn't painted at the time.

I thought the eveidence suggested he was a ginger nut. (for some readson there are clusters of redheads distributed thoughout the westernish world).
The thought that God is a ginger tosser is perhaps too much to bear.
