Watch out for these scammers

It would appear they sell expensive seated/fr row type tickets for concerts (often sold-out types) that they don't even have, months before the concert date to un-suspecting fans. They then wait outside said concert and inform 100's of innocent customers that they don't in-fact have said expensive tickets unfortunately but can either give refund or you can have for small amount less, considerably cheaper ticket, standing by the back door...
Pure scam from what i can tell... they get to bank 1000's for the months in-between and then try to flog you a considerbly cheaper ticket for more than the market value

This happened to me parents last week with a Coldplay concert that they'd been looking forward to and ranting on about for months... gutted for them.

Live and learn and all that, but no harm in warning others

I think these are the ones that have been on Watchdog a few times - if it's the same lot, they're a right shower of cowboys.

Getmetickets.net failed to send my Girlfriend two tickets for the Stereophonics last Saturday at ally pally.

Usual story, cannot contact them by phone, fax or email. They left a message on her work phone on the Saturday of the concert saying to contact them to arrange collection. This is standard operating procedure it seems for these guys, banking on the fact that people generally will not pick up their work messages until Monday. This is regardless of the fact that they charged for delivery when she bought the tickets.

Some interesting information posted on uk.blagger.com:- http://uk.blagger.com - search for getmetickets.net

She has contacted her credit card company to arrange a refund, but has to draft a letter outlining what occurred, and include a copy of all correspondence, and still wait over a month until things straighten out. Fair enough I suppose, but still a pain in the harris.

As it happens all is not doom and gloom, as we managed to find two tickets through friends which she got at face value, and it was great to hear the Welsh lads bang out their finest tunes in person.

Cheers

Mike
