I did 8 Hours of "E" learning today as part of my training at work,(theres 8 weeks of training in total!) my head is buzzing and although I read all the info I don't think more than 10% was absorbed!, surely this is an information overload?

I didn't realise intensive drug education was still regarded as a perk.

I seem to remember from my Uni days something about the brain only being able to "learn" for around 20 minutes at a time. So, if you're doing long stints you should break the time in to 20 minutes sessions with 5-10 minutes breaks in between.

Obviously its different for different people - and depends on the subject matter, but I'd imagine that at 8 hours straight you're wasting a fair bit of your time with stuff just not being absorbed.

That's how I've always studied, 20 minutes of reading etc. and then 5 minutes of PH surfing!!! I used to set alarms on my palm so that I didn't constantly sit there clock watching!

The only real way to "learn" is to "do". Just sitting and reading for 8 hours is a waste of time unless there are exercises to get you to apply what you are supposed to have learnt.
