OK, so after 3 weeks of utter craziness I am bored on my last day in the office. I am also a slightly obsessive Floyd fan...

No discussion required, it is a recognised fact among all sentient beings. Next question?

At times they are fantastic - some of their stuff is amazing, however some of it doesn't do very much for me. I think you would have to be a very avid Floyd fan to say everything they have done is as good.

For me, their best albums are :

The Wall
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals

Oh god.

Its a tricky question.

I might have to have a bit of a lie down to consider this.

There are so many variables, so much to consider.

Early inclination suggests no but it may sway, oh I dunno.

Led Zep alone run them pretty close, then theres a whole few other genres to consider.

Lordy.

Led Zep are up there, but then you have to factor in some of their abominable later stuff!

I'd agree here. I am obsessive, but the early stuff wasn't really all that. You hit the nail on the head with DSM, The Wall and WYWH!

No, but it would have to be pretty poor to plumb the depths of "Coda"

A great band - but it is not possible to say one band is the greatest ever as musical taste is subjective.

Didn't Planet Rock (www.planetrock.com) do a survey recently? Apparently, they asked joe public to nominate the best ever guitarist, singer, drummer, & bassist to become part of an imaginary "supergroup".

Amazingly enough, everyone just happened to nominate each member of Led Zeppelin. So there you have it, Led Zep are the best band ever.

But, when I'm in the right mood, nobody can touch Pink Floyd.

Dave Gilmour's guitar solos on 'Comfortably Numb' remain my favourate bits of any song, ever.

I even have both The Wall and DSOM on 24-carat gold plated CDs, so silly am I.

Pink Floyd were alright but certainly not the best. For every great song they wrote there was one which needed skipping.

As Led Zep has already been mentioned I put forward Guns N Roses.

The Final Cut is hugely under-rated. Fantastic album.

The lines "through the fish eyed lens of tear stained eyes
i can barely define the shape of this moment in time" just popped into my head
