Driving through a small vilage this evening came accross these the pictures just dont do them justice.
A lot of the stuff was mechanical. Id hate to see their electricity bill.
It seems to be somthing most of the village was involved in .loads of houses decorated with buckets for donating to charity
loads of houses getting in teh spirit of it.

bah you two are just scrooges. Not normaly a fan of over the top decorations but its a bit different when most of the village is doing it these 2 were the most decorated some were done rather tastefully. made my daughters smile anyway. I think its become a bit of a tradition at the village now.

plus the one chap cant be all bad you should be able to make out what car he drives from the pic

I must get a photo of a house/street near where my mom lives, when I next go back, I have never seen anything like it. Makes that one look positively dull

mind you, the thread will be well old by the time I get back to take it

It's the latest craze (in the absence of church-going 'proper' christmas).

I call them 'chav' houses.

The things people do for one-upmanship.

Pathetic.

Each to their own. We prefer a simple evergreen wreath on the gate at Christmas.

You should try the Coopers Arms in Reading, they've put all that stuff inside the pub. Eyeball searing stuff!

A street just one minute walk away from here is entirely covered with lights. Massive attraction round here, can't even get out of our drive after 6pm. Very bad.
Also, a local radio station is offering £400 to best house decorated with their name on it. Quite disturbing. I don't want to mention the house with the manger

Dave.
