So is King Kong a stop motion creature??? If so, I take back all i said about it being another special effects laden crud fest! It will be like a proper Wallace and grommit action flick!

Och, there's no pleasing you, Andy.
Not sure I’m that thrilled either given Mr. Jackson’s previous work, far be it from me though to throw a wet blanket on Hollywood hype.

what really interested me was that Anthony Serkis aka Gollum from the LOTR movies is playing Kong in the same sort of CGI-over -live actor way.

The few initial reviews Ive read are stunning.

Cant wait.

I wasn't really bothered about it until a mate of mine started going on about it all the time. I am really looking forward to it now.

I wasn't planning on seeing out of general principle. There's been so many remakes of films with the same name (Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, War of the Worlds, and about two dozen others). However, having read this thread I might just see it now.

I remember I skipped school in my teens to sneak into the cinema to watch King Kong in the seventies (the one with Jeff Bridges and introducing Jessica Lange, her 1st appearence in a major hollywood movie),I was mesmerised and ended up watching it 5 times, my parents still don't know about it

Looking forward to watching a proper King Kong again after Mighty Joe Young.

It does seem to be getting rave reviews. maybe it's not a special effects crammed vomit fest? I'm ever so curious now! I may well have to pootle along and have a wee nose, and see for myself. All bets are off now! From the trailers, it did seem to be on a level playing field with Anaconda in cheesyness!

Didn't godzilla chase a cab??? Alright, not a big overgrown monkley, but a ferocious human squishing machine all the same.

Empire has given it five stars !!!!

By the sounds of it its another flawed masterpiece in the same vein as Return of the King.

Does it all end happily this time? Perhaps Kong could become an undercover CIA agent, marry the replacement Fay Wray and watch her eyes and everything else open extra wide on the wedding night! "OOH, they don't call you King Dong for nothing, do they big boy?!

(Sory, I think my light therapy's starting to kick in!)

Not my kind fo film but the reviews I've read mean I'll definately be seeing it. Jackon is turning into one of the best directors around.

The Mail review last week said it was too long towards the end and you just end up willing KK to die.I personally look forward to watching it.
