'Climate change' guest lecture at my uni:
Discussion
The usual 'we are heading for thermal armageddon if we don't do something soon' rubbish. A member of the green party was present as was one from Greenpeace as well as two students. And bizarrely, the Greenpeace member was by far the most balanced of the four (she liked cars!)
One of the questions I asked was how they could explain the severe natural temperature fluctuations in the past. This had them all laughably stumped for some reason. They all completely dismissed the Sun's influence and genereally dismissed any natural causes for temperature change which I thought was a bit unbalanced.
Most of it was just pure claptap and, as you would have guessed, they all epitomised your neo-hippy eco-fascist quite well. Which I found amusing.
