My life assurance company are ignoring my letters of complaint. I cannot go into detail here but suffice to say they have made one of my life policies 'paid up'thereby losing me money. I have,IMO, very good grounds for complaint, hence letters. So what now??

One more recorded delivery for the MD.
Copy the FSA.

Oh yes, mark it Private & Confidential so that he/she actually gets it.

Thats my next move then, recorded to the M.D and if no proper answers to my complaint off to the Omsbudsman.

I can't believe that this Company is so poor at customer service, I have been with them for 38 years and this episode has rocked me, in the bad sense. Why oh why do the big boys behave like sh*t to thier customers.

With regards to the Ombudsman, they will usually only open up a complaint if it's been escalated through the correct company procedures, from supervisor up through managers, and is still not resolved to your satisfaction.

Obviously this company is being a bit lame, but you'll probably still have to try and register the complaint with them otherwise the Ombudsman will say the company have not had a chance to address your problems. The assurance company will probably say they never received your complaits.

Complain in writing, address to the Customer Relations Dept. and keep copies yourself.

Go here for some tips:
www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Add a bit more. Finance companies usually have a couple of months to process your complaint and offer you a resolution, so you'll have to give it some time as well. Then the Ombudsman will get involved

Thanks runflat, saves me alot of (more) grief. I will try and try again. When I was a manager I had 3 days to get a written responce out to a customer, even if it was only 'we are investigating'. Then a further ten days to have the definitive answer. Must be bl00dy wonderful in these insurance companies where it seems they are still sleeping the afternoons away

I feel so much better for that dig.
