So have any of you had dinner at the burj al Arab? If so do you recommend the rooftop or the underwater restaurant and... was it worth it? An alternative is afternoon tea but that does seem a little bizarre eating scones and Devinshire clotted cream in the Emirates Rich...

Do they not do a takeaway? You could have a kebab...

IIRC it costs £100 to have coffee in the foyer...

About £20 for afternoon tea, probably cheaper than the Ritz.

I will let you know as I will be in Abu Dhabi tomorrow and Dubai for a few days from Tuesday.
I will be staying just along the beach.

Dinner in the Italian restuarant, at the top of the Burj was excellent. Cost was in the area of £40 PP but worth it for the views.
Bud was the same price as a bottle of water £6.00
The underwater restaurant was fully booked and usually has to be booked a long way in advance. We had a look through the menu and it would of worked out at about £90 pp for a fish dinner. The food that we saw looked amazing and its the experience you are paying for as much as the food.
I was there in 2002, so things may have changed, but for the better if anything.
If your about at night, a beer by the quayside looking at the fire show is a great way to whittle away a few hours.

Went there 2 years ago for the Friday "Brunch" at the skyview restaurant on the top floor (the 2 horns under the helipad). Cost about 50GBP/head inc a bottle of wine (25GBP - but the wine menu went up to some very serious money....).

Possibly one of the best meals I have ever had, anywhere. The experience is fabulous, the views stunning and the service immaculate. At the brunch, they would keep an eye on what you were putting on your plate and then the correct cutlery would be on the table before you got back to your seat....

Do it - if nothing else to say you have!

Yup, several times. I'm lucky enough to have eaten in all the restaurants in the Jumeirah Beach and Burj complex. The best imo isn't actually the Burj itself. The seafood restaurant takes that mantle at the end of the pier at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. I would also recommend Views at the Emirates Towers....yum!

Stayed on the 15th floor of the Burj al Arab. had dinner in the upstairs restaurent, with its gaudy decor. the piano player was good, as was the singer. The food was astounding! never went to the fish restaurent, although the trip to it is supposed to be good.. A sort of 'make believe' sub ride, or something?
Did you go to the Wild wadi? We, (ie, the whole 40 man crew) pretty much took over the place. Had a great time!
