footie world cup tickets
Discussion
I was looking at this last week. I think you can get in the conditional scheme for tickets at particular venues, but the draw for who plays who and where doesn't take place until (I think) 9th December. So you can buy tickets for, say, 1st round matches in Berlin, but you won't know who'll be playing there. Personally, I'll be watching the draw and buying tickets based on where England will be playing. Online there are plenty of touts selling "Follow England" tickets, but by definition they can't be guaranteed unless the tout has bought (or reserved (or got on the waiting list)) for enough tickets to cover all venues, for all matches. Obviously, the semi-finals, final and 3rd place runners up tickets are different because their location is a given. There's still no guarantee of ticket availability, but there should be something like 80000 returns available in the scheme (that's the 'conditional' part).
Oh, and you also need a Mastercard to buy tickets. FIFA accept *no* other kind of payment. Tickets at group stage are 35euro to 100euro.

On a seperate note I've already bought tickets for the Rugby World Cup in 2007, because the French RFU have already worked out who'll playing who and where and when. Simply sign up as a friend of a French local rugby club and buy your tickets for your chosen matche(s). It was another PHer who posted this and I'm grateful.

thanks for that seems a bit overly complicated and as for only allowing mastercard ffs!! have some german friends near a venue so might just get some tickets for there and take pot luck - if nothing else would be fun being in a german pub watching england
