had a filling done last friday,
only a minor one, and looking at the xray of before didnt seem to be all that big at all. no pain at the time, (hats off to dentist) but now nearly week on and anything hot or cold sends masses of pain into my jaw.
cant eat on that side and drinking anything is a nightmare rinsing my teeth after washing them i need to make sure the water is lukewarm to try to avoid wincing

is this going to stop or should i go back asap and can anything be done on it all?

Where's the pain coming from - the face of the new filling or the side of the tooth?

just had the same problem. Went back. Dentist suggested that either a small cavity was left under the filling, or that the depth of the filling meant that the material was directly contacting the nerve - instant transmission of hot/cold sensation. He did an x-ray.

Turned out to be neither. The tooth next to it had a cracked root, which the disturbance of the filling process had irritated. Did a temp filling with medicine to test it, and all is well. Going back for a permanent filling soon.

Looks like a visit to the dentist and an x-ray may be the way to go. Good luck, toothache.... aaaargh.... my condolences.... nasty.

Got the same myself from a filling about three weeks ago. I put it down to it being very deep and close to the nerve. I'm going back in a few weeks just to get everything else checked so I'll ask then.
