I can't find my P60's that I would have received in April 05 due to moving house.

Being a student I know I can claim some tax back I had two jobs over my placement year running concurrently. (I worked June 04 - Aug 05 in one job and Sept 04 - May 05 in the other one).

Will the companies I worked for have records on their system? Or am I screwed?

Thanks,

Phill

AFAIK you can never get a replacement but, with a bit of luck, your employer will be able to provide a copy.

These guys should be able to help www.mrbateman.co.uk/

failing that I'm pretty sure you can't have them reissued but your previous firms should be able to give you the details on the forms. If they have passed them to the tax office then the tax office will have the totals.

Your employer's are prohibited by law from producing a replacement P60. To do so is a criminal offence. Howeever, they should be able to provide you with a photocopy of the P14 (which is the version of the P60 they keep on their own files).

The P60 states very clearly that you MUST keep the form carefully as replacements will not be issued.

A 5 April 2005 P60 is not old - in fact it is the most recent P60 you shoiuld have in your possession.

Thanks Eric,

I should be due some tax back from last year as i've paid too much tax while on my placement year. (In the last financial year I didn't work a full year).

I'll email work about obtaining a P14.

I thought from 2005 you were now able to issue copies?

You might be correct. These technicalities change all the time. In the end it's not that big an issue as the employer should have all the details on record and should be able to produce some form of supporting documentation for the employee when requested to do so.

There is legal differnce between a "copy" and a "duplicate".
