What are we using as a benchmark? I would say that I'm not overweight at all but if I step on the scales in any shopping centre and enter my height, it says I'm about 8 - 10 kilos overweight. Absolute rubbish, if I was that much lighter I'd be a racing snake.

Don't look for benchmarks, look for your belly button.

No problems there - a washboard.

The charts say that I am 2 and a half stone overweight for my height, but going by how I feel I would be happy losing a stone and a half.

Oooh, more than that for me I reckon. Still, I don't look massively overweight due to my height. Am sorting it out now anyway.

Right then - I'm 13 stone 8 at 6 foot tall. That makes me 2 stone overweight then.

Bodyfat is only 12% though

I am the perfect weight for my height of 8'4"

I prefer to see myself as being underheight.

...about 2 stone over

The solution is simple: shed a few numbers from your Porsche, trade down to a 964.

Like it! As it happens I'm adding a supercharger to the Porsche so it will be an even porkier Porker.

I'm 6ft and 11 stone 8 - I've been losing a pound a week for the last 8 weeks, and was planning on getting to around 11 stone - is this too light? I'm losing the weight by cutting out chocolate and other junk food. I walk at a quick pace for around 45 mins Mon-Fri. I feel fairly overweight because I have quite a paunch. I'm going to start running for around 30 minutes 3 times a week in a couple of weeks time (after a house move).

Is there anything specific I can be doing to hasten the departure of said paunch? It's really unattractive!

Porsche could install an exercise bike in place of the driver's seat so we lose weight as we drive. It will look fine in and RSR among all that scaffolding- sorry, safety bars.

This is very true - another thing that I do to exercise in the Porsche is to change from 1st to 2nd and then back again over and over again as the gearchange in the 915 is so long it feels like rowing.

I'm 6ft exactly and 18 and a half stone. I put on loads of weight when I was in the Middle East for three years - because there wasn't much else to do than get in the gym. I got completely obsessed with bodybuilding and went from being a flank forward to a loosehead prop in about six months. I still carry a lot of muscle mass, although I don't have time for the gym (other than my own free weights and rowing machine), so I'm not in anything like the condition I was. The earlier comment about Will Carling is very true - the body mass index doesn't take muscle bulk into account.

If Paris Hilton ever wanted to lose weight she need only scrape off a few pounds of sun tan, or ditch the lap dog.

I seem to vaguely remember from the media she finds regular exercise a more enjoyable way of burning fat, and I don't mean working!

What was your original weight ... come on, tell us.

You don't ask a lady this! Let's just say it was over 100 kilos. Boy, I'm SO glad I did something about it.

Mrs Fish, are you managing to get any time with little Fish to try to lose any more?
