Although tax exempt, Charles has voluntarily paid a tax of 40% since 1993. I wonder what motivation prompted that?

I don't understand. if he is tax exempt, give the 40% to charity...or keep it! it's legitimately earned after all. if the public feel (I make no comment on this particular issue) then legislate to make him pay tax! grrr..

He is giving it to charity...

Don't a majority of your taxes go to help all of those poor, unfortunate souls that, through no fault of their own must subside on the kind, charitable donations that all of the "lucky" working class make via gifts to the government dutifully deducted from your pay packet each week?

Isn't that a lovely thing for the government to do for you. Makes you feel all warm inside knowing that the finest government employed minds are managing your charitable contributions to the poor and destitute, doesn't it? Oh - and don't forget the "free" healthcare that you get just for making those charitable donations...
