Suspect escaped by stealing the police car.
Discussion
Ever wondered why the police shy away from catching Gypsy criminals.
They just play fair do they?
Ben Elton and Rowan Atkinson couldn’t make a better comedy that that.

}A robbery suspect escaped by stealing the police car he had been put into by officers.
Officers had stopped two men to question them about a street robbery outside the Aylsham Road post office in Norwich where a woman in her 50s lost her pension money.
The pair, who were driving a Vauxhall Vectra which police believed had been stolen, were stopped in Rectory Road, Little Melton, at about 2.30pm on Sunday.
One of the men was put in the back of the Ford Focus police car but the other man ran away and was chased by officers and eventually caught.
In the meantime, the first man managed to climb into the front seat of the police car and drive it away.
Police have refused to say if he was handcuffed or whether the keys were in the car's ignition.
The man drove five miles to the Norfolk County Council-run recycling centre on Swanton Road, Mile Cross.
He was still on the run last night after dumping the car and fleeing on foot.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the original street robbery. It happened on Saturday at about 10am and the mugger ran off down Aylsham Road, where he was detained by a member of the public.
The victim managed to get her money back before the robber fled in a car with a second man.
Shanny Smith, 30, of the Roundwell Caravan Site, off Dereham Road, Costessey, was arrested on Sunday and was questioned at Bethel Street police station yesterday.
He was charged with robbery and allowing himself to be transported in a vehicle which was taken from the owner without consent on Monday night.
The man wanted in connection with the robbery, the theft of the Vauxhall Vectra and stealing the police car is about 5ft 6in, large with a round face, and aged 30-35. He was last seen wearing a hooded top.
Ben Elton and Rowan Atkinson couldn’t make a better comedy that that.
