Ok I did it but..

Have they stoped the scrotes who put a concrete block through my neighbours car window? No.

Have they stoped the scrotes who torched my other neighbours car? No.

Have they caught the kids who were throwing druggy needles from the roof tops at passers by in town? No.

Have they done much about the flasher who flashes at 6 year olds and chases them home. No.

Have they done anything to stop the drug dealer who trades from the end of my colleagues street? No. Well OK they observed him from the safety of an unmarked car for months before he moved on.

I don't suppose that anyone will ever explain why a bit of speed in the industrial estate area, as they describe it, is excessive on a Saturday morning at 8:49. Not many kids going to school, companies closed for the weekend, etc.

The final insult to all this is however a little note at the bottom of their letter regarding posting off my details...

Aparently I should consider sending it by registered post as proof of posting is not proof of receipt... but ... surely registered post isn't proof of receipt either? If the letter goes missing, registered or not, it goes missing and it isn't my fault? Or is it? Am I really being held responsible for the post system now? I have no option but to post it as the address is a PO box so I can't hand deliver it and get a reciept over the counter. What happens if this does get lost in the post? Curious...

Have you, or anyone else, asked if they can just hand the thing in in person rather than post it?

You say if it all gets lost in the post, registered post or not, I'm up the creek. Why do you say this? Has this happened to someone you know?

I doubt theres any kids going to school, considering it was a Saturday. What exactly were you doing on an industrial estate at 8:49am on a Saturday?

Was it a radar gun or Gatso/other fixed thingy?

The road goes past the side of an industrial estate. The road widens from two lanes to four on this stretch. The limit used to be 40 but a while back the entire stretch was reduced to 30. This makes sense in the two lane bit as this is partly residential with a garage, small businesses and a couple of pubs so there are "hazards" there. But not in the four lane bit on a quiet Saturday morning.

The camera has really got me rattled. It's hidden in a white van which has now gone from this road. Just think about the potential of this for a bit. It could now be parked in any lay by, anywhere, at any time, and you'd never see it. The camera might not even be in van next time, it could be in the back of an estate car at the corner of a car park. If this thing is the future then cars for car enthusiasts will soon be as dead as Dodos.
