I was going to respond to the other favourite actors thread But one of my favourites is not really an actor cos he always seem play the same character, just in a different scenario.

Christian Slater.

Is it my imagination, he justs seems to never do anything different in any movie but I don't get bored of him for some reason.

I suppose we can't count 'specialist' actors such as Martial artists, as they will allways play a downtrodden guy who fights back etc etc etc.

Tom hanks has stepped out of his character in his biggest movies, but I know what you mean, He is like Hugh Grant.

Only Hugh grant is a better example

Hugh grant.

Adam sandler plays the same goofy person every single time, but he's not my favourite though.

We all know actor can act because they have an equity card and non actors without an equity card can only play the part of themselves, ie a bus driver can play the part of a bus driver.

You will of course remember the film Grand Prix with James Garner and that never to be forgotten bit of acting that Graham Hill did playing himself, talk about wooden.
You would think Graham Hill could have played the part of himself with a bit more gusto.

I can just picture him now looking over his drink at the main characters, he looked like he was thinking.

Umm hes got a nice bum.

Nah, he just IS Tom Cruise in every movie.

He actually changes character these days.

All his old movies were the same formula though, he is a great pool player/fighter pilot/ race car driver that suffers a catastrophy but fights his way back.

(not my material, i heard a comedian recently talking about him)

I was under the impression that Christian Slater was playing Jack Nicholson in every role (think about it)
