is it acceptable to put non standard ink in to ones mont blanc? I have located a stash of quink(???) ink pots and it seems a shame to bin them.

Is it the case that using different manufacturers ink in different pens is like using petrol in a diesel car? I don't want to grot up the insides of my pen :cloud9:

:D

I think that the consistancy of the ink is different, but the Quink Ink isn't as thick as the Mont Blanc stuff so it should be OK.

it is a genuine question though and I felt it warranted an answer..it's not as if it's a flash pen, it's a meisterstuck which is the 1.0 corsa 12v of the mont blanc range - I just don't want to waste free ink or f**k up my pen

You're giving us manly chaps a bad name though

Having said that, I have bought a few fancy pens but never seem to have a pen in my pocket.

You shouldn't knacker the pen. Worse case scenario is that you have to flush through with tap water.

Its not how big your pen is, its how you write your name!

Or so say men with small writing instruments...

Evian surely..

Both the everyday Waterman and the Sunday best Caran d'ache survive perfectly well with a mixture of Quink and Waterman ink. Neither seems to harm the pen and my writing is totally illegible with both.

I don't know mate I find black bic biros are better than blue ones because all official forms say black ink only, and you can get loads for a quid in the newsagents.Hope this helps mate, see you at btap.Dougie.

I have 20 pots of black....

Get a Pelican M600 up for man hands. They are very good. Well made, nice nibs.

Erm for the meisterstuck. I would just go into a pen shop and ask if the ink is ok to use.

I personally wouldnt use anything other than real montblanc ink in my noblesse oblige. Montblancs can be a bit delicate if not treated with care..

Seem to remember a problem with their fountain pens being taken on airplanes and the controlled climate in the cabin flucking up the nib?
