Local classifieds papers - whats yours (help)

[UKBob]

I advertise in a "local rag" which is an ads magazine with no editorial, its called Friday Ad. It brings in a LOT of new business, despite being having no demographics and being a general readership classifieds publication, it does really well for the business.

Cost/profit ratio is no less than 20-1. Can anyone recommend a local classifieds paper, with a large readership or coverage?

The Argus and maybe The Leader

any of the northcliffe titles (hull daily mail, nottingham evening post etc) have a good spread of coverage

Newsshopper has, I believe, the largest circulation of all the greater London free papers (or used to have at least)

Ready to stand corrected on the above claim though...

The Advertiser (drops through the door free on a friday) has a very reasonable rate for including leaflets etc...

Not sure that they will be called / or work the same elsewhere around the country.

Starts to get damned expensive this advertising lark hey...

If you know what town/region you wish to advertise in - this database gives you the basic demographics of that town and the local papers serving that area (plus the circulation figures of each) - for example the Brighton & Hove leader has the highest circulation figures of all the East Sussex local papers.
