It has been presented to me as a fact that there are more people live today than have died since we started recording such things.

It seems like an outrageous claim to me!

I think this is a common myth, I was told it once, but its not correct.

I suppose with an increased birth rate and a longer life expectancy it could be feasable.

After all, it did claim to be 'since we began recording such things' so, not a figure of all the deaths ever.
