I think it needs a bit more than brown sticky tape over the company name!

How the hell did that happen? Air France still denying they overload their aircraft? I like the way that they stuck sheets of brown paper over the name as well (Alas the cameras got there first).

I always thought that the landing gear was safe guarded so it couldn't be retracted on the ground?

Bet it sounded expensive when it was happening!

Love the brown sticky tape job - I'm surprised
they didn't go the whole way, cover up the 'Airbus'
logo and write 'Boeing' in crayon on the top.

Were Air France embarrassed that some AF idiot retracted the nose wheel in error, or was it on delivery to them and someone wanted to cover up the "damage in transit"????
Why otherwise cover up the name then????

Can only see one of the photos due to work webnazi filtering. Is this the recent accident in Nigeria where the AF flight hit a load of cattle on the runway? Hardly their fault....

Got a great photo somewhere of the China airlines 747 fuselage wreck lying next to a runway on Kai-Tak after a crash, with another China Airlines plane taxing past. The China airlines is clearly visible, bet that was reassuring for the passengers.

Airfrance forgot to do their tail emblem though , this was apparently due to a hydraulics problem.

If you want more reassuring photos of the safety of aircraft do a search under the accidents category here

I heard Kai Tak was one of the scariest airports in the world to land at. Something to do with buildings being metres away from wingtips

The new one is isnt much better, someone has already managed to land in the mountains and its foggy almost every day there.

The nosegear collapsed at CDG on 20th October 2002. This aircraft was delivered to Air France on 18th May 1988.

It seems an Engineer was doing some Hydraulic functional tests and managed to overide the system and retract the nose gear, the mains tried to go aswell but the weight kept them down.

I posted it as thee were no injuries and I thought it may be of interest to some people.
