I find the biggest problem with ebay is trying to find someone to help you when you have a real problem.
Yes, they're all too busy counting their money. Same for PayPal of course, who offered me £99 refund for a broken item but refused to refund a £59 repair bill when I got it fixed because they 'hadn't authorised it'.

I had two lots that sold to two different people in the same town in Wales last week.
No contact from one of them at all since their winning bid and the other e-mailed to say he had sent me a cheque and asked "how much for postage" knowing full well that I had already e-mailed him twice to tell him.
I'll cash his cheque but I'm not sending the items until he pays postage as it is £50 and that's at cost too.
The other guy who hasn't responded I'll have to "neg" at some point soon and re-list the item and then apply for a refund on the re-listing fees.
Time wasting @rseholes really p1ss me off, must lead very shallow and empty lives if they have to do that for kicks

i have bought omsething off someone recently which hasnt arrived and he's gone ominously quiet. Hope he doesnt turn out to be scamming me (400+ fedback so would be surprised), cos will then have to go round to his house...and cant really be arsed with the hassle, but it irritates me that some of these people think they're invisible just cos it's online. finding people is surprisingly easy.....
Had something similar. A £700 camcorder that when arrived had head fault, and the flip out lcd was broken?! Seller didn't want to know, Paypal didn't want to know, nor did Ebay. £350 to get repaired in the end.
Decided from that moment on that if the item i was buying was worth more than £100 i'd drive to pick it up and pay in cash after I had confirmed that it worked unless the seller had high feedback (and i mean in the thousands).

this person was has 154/93.3% positive feedback
As for the delay, usual for some gig tickets to appear only 2 weeks before the gig (from Ticket Master/promoters etc), so wasn't too concerned that I didn't have the tickets until October
So, if anyone knows a W Davenport in Livingstone (absolutement@virginstudent.com), I'd like to know where my Bloc Party tickets are or my £85 back

I have access to the full UK Electoral Register. 99% of the time it tracks someone successfully. Send me a PM with your email address, there is ONE person in Livingston with the name "W Davenport".
It also includes a telephone number...

Kentish dont bother with the neg just report a NPB and get your fees back, the neg will just get you one back in return
Cheers Colin, will do.
Stupid system isn't it?
More sensible would be that only seller can leave feedback for non payer if item not marked as payment received.
Not rocket science really is it, come on e-bay pull your finger out!

Story gets better
I emailed some other ebay members who have purchased tickets as well.
Basically, it seems like he's been fairly clever. All the events he sold tickets for were a long way off so by the time anyone found out about the scam it was outside of Ebay's 60 day complaint time limit.
He is now no longer registered with Ebay, so either they have kicked him out because of the complaints or he has cleared off, probably only to pop up with another user name sooner or later...
Address I sent cheque to was...
Allan Wales
Unit 222
120 King Street
Kilmarnock
KA1 1DJ
Contact details from Ebay are:
User ID: absolutement
Name: William Davenport
Company:
City: livingston
County: Midlothian
Country: United Kingdom
Phone: 07979742207

Don't get me started. I lost 1500 on ebay earlier this year and ebay did nothing about it,even though they were warned he has a scammer, this guy called renthal666 scammed 100 people he was from scotland as well. Turned out his bank account was in Wimbledon. Police still have not caught the guy
If its anything over £100 I will go and collect myself.
Makes my blood boil
Ebay are only interested in making money

Its a shame, but I am amazed at the amount of cash we are talking about here: £700 and you waited for it to be sent in the post?
I would be very wary:
-If its too good to be true, it probably is
-if its a lot of money, I would make sure I collect it myself, and bring the cash with me.
Buyer beware, remember

Remember too that a good feedback history is NOT bombproof - accounts can be hijacked. So check the seller's history and see if there have been any pauses in transactions, or whether 100+ transactions for average household stuff have suddenly been replaced by 10 laptops all with the same picture...
