Gold - everytime.

Currencies are too unpredictable, and gold is a finite resource.

Crude Oil - can't see it getting any cheaper myself, until they develop alternatives to produce hydrogen fuel. Gold is only good in times of war.

See my take is that the £ is over valued for sure....the $ looks shakey, Euro is the least over valued paper currency...but structurally lots of risks easpcially political.

Gold is up 90% from it's trough, but seems to bear near it's mean ( no where hear it's peak of $800 ).

UBS today released a report citing a sharp US slowdown next year, they are going neutral on equities and bonds ( in all markets ) and suggest switching into cash.......aha but which cash.

When they say switching into cash they don't actually mean cash as in currencies, they mean deposit rates.

Yes but I can't do that with my pissy little pot, but I agree with the sentiment of the report, economic clouds, £ over valued etc.

Personally speaking I work for a US company, get paid in $ and have the choice of converting to GBP, I keep a large % in USD, and will make that proportion a lot larger if it ever gets to 2$/£.

The worst that can happen is that I have to buy property in the states
