I've just found a dead lizard in my garden, never seen one of those round here before.

and prob wont again as its now deceased..intrigued what does it look like apart from small green and stiff

It was about 3-4" long and dark brown.

It was about 3-4" long and dark brown.



Sounds like a Common or Smooth Lizard.

Used to catch them when I was a kid. They eat spiders.

Have you touched it? This is important.

Are they common in the UK? Why is it important if I have touched it? (Haven't by the way, used a trowel to pick it up)

Dam, oh well the pooped up my joke. They're safe to pick up really. And yes there common esp in the South of the UK.

If you ever walk along a woodland path on a sunny day you'll see them scampering for cover if you're quiet.

I had one in the lounge in the summer and see them every so often. Even saw some very small red lizards a few years ago.
