For once, the Tories do something right! Perhaps this may be the first step to the Tories turning around their fortunes. Let's hope that the blue rinse brigade don't f**k it all up again.

Judging by the polls 968, Cameron will walk it.

Never take the polls as wrote. A lot of these polls are conducted on the internet, and the old farts that have ruined the Tory party, don't use the internet a lot. The younger elements do, but the question is, are they in the majority or not?

The important question is, how many friends in the media do the Tory's have?

Not many

but at least with a 'moderniser' like Cameron in charge the attacks will be reduced.

I daresay that Cameron would appeal to a broader section of the media, than any of the other candidates would. He's a very media friendly figure.

Edited to add, please don't start the media whinging, it's very unedifying and not particularly true. The problem has been that the party themselves have had given a very bad account of themselves, with some poor leadership. The real issue with the media, is whether Murdoch approves of the candidate, if he does, then the media will be behind the candidate, as it was behind Maggie, for many years.

I saw Cameron's interview with Channel4 news, he deals with media interviews well.

One thing that did strike me, he emphasised how he was in favour of freedom from the state.

I wonder if he possess the intellectual coherence to see that through to it's logical conclusion. The Tories have been all of favour of freedom as long as it involved freedom to close a factory say, but if it were a case of freedom to drink until an hour you wished or to go to a Casino when you want they have been less in favour.

As a Channel 4 news reporter said, he might well have to go against what the Daily Mail wants.

how are we being manipulated exactly?

Some have called the BBC, Blairs Broadcasting Corporation, but it is not as crude as that. The BBC does not support any one party, rather it promotes a set of beliefs and plays a very large role in setting the whole news agenda accordingly.

I wouldn't be surprised if the grass roots return Davis. That would be a disaster for the party. If Davis had any sense he'd chuck it in now and pledge his support for Cameron, to unite the party.

It's not my party, so, for the moment I'll refrain from further comment, but! It's 50/50 as I see it....90 votes..ish for the left of the party, 108 votes..ish for the right of the party. 10 votes could swing it, not much in it is there?

A divided party?....MMmmh yes...but...so is NU-Labour.

Either way, in either party, many people, like the nation are divided...... (I'm nuts but even I've realised that!)
