Hunting survives as ban bent and broken
Emerging from a copse in Prime Minister Tony Blair's own constituency of Sedgefield, a pack of hounds is followed by a posse of riders.
They have been trying to flush a fox out of the woods and are happy to let me watch as they are satisfied that, despite the ban on hunting with dogs, they're not breaking the law.
Waiting outside the woods is a man with a bird on his arm - an eagle owl.
Falconry is not outlawed and in that sport you use dogs to flush prey to your bird.
So around the country, hunts see this as a way to get around the law.
The Countryside Alliance says around 50 packs have bought a bird or made a deal with a falconer to come out when they are in the field.
It would be possible to gather evidence to mount a prosecution, but very difficult and costly
So what kills the fox - bird or dog?
To an extent this is an irrelevant question - hunts have always got more pleasure from the chase than the kill.

So that was a good use of parliamentary time and our tax revenue.... Hunting is banned, long live hunting

Similarly if you drive past a certain hotel on the shores of lake Windermere you will see a sign saying "water skiing here today" in big bold letters. Since the children of the speed patrolmen started getting bullied at school by the other kids their dads have curiously found other things to do.
Real genuine stupidity will never win out in this country. I am getting sick of having to live part of my adult life here though surely we have now had enough is it not time to smash the chattils of these drug using whore addicted liberal knobheads who are intent on imposing their boring featureless society on us?

Mind you. The Beeb has a vendetta going so expect to see loads of meeja coverage about how its all still terribly bad to help stir up the Islingtonites into heading off to the country in their Range Rovers to take video of people riding about on horses.
(Could I get any more sterotypes into that, I wonder!)
Impartial even factual coverage my big fat hairy arse.
Frankly it would be best for everyone to simply shut up about the matter. The Class War Soldiers got their victory - the fact that its irrelevant just needs to be quietly forgotten.

What the bleating Beeb did not report on however are all the landowners who have told the MoD (i.e. bLIARs cronies) that they cannot use their land any more! Getting to be a problem especially with the REALLY big landowners in the borders....ranges and training areas.... no longer going to be able to be used...
Oh dear...was all soooo well thought out wasn't it you damned envy politicians!!!

They have just effectively banned Trail Riding as well now. Despite months of consultation with LARA and assureances that they would not bar use of "green lanes" to Riders and users of 4x4's they have passed a bill allowing local authorities to issue closure notices to vehicles whenever and for whatever time they please! So much for democratic government.
Expect to see some horsie riders on a "falconry" exercise getting arrested for "terrorism" or incitement to public unrest or some other stupid new law.
Glad that the big land owners are taking the fight back to BLiar and his tw4t head government.
It's about time the government realised who they work for... the people of the UK...
Perhaps when they start pampering to whinging minority public opinion they'll look at the big picture in future instead of going on little crusades for a popularity contest to idiotic uneducated voters, aired by Bliars Broadcasting Corporation!

The government had been willing to be a little relaxed on this issue until:
“Shadow Agriculture and Rural Affairs Minister James Paice introduced a series of amendments, describing the damage which 4 wheel drive vehicles and motorbikes can do to rural byways, making them impassable for walkers and riders. He welcomed the Government's intention in the Natural Environment and Rural Communities Bill to end the ability to claim byways for mechanically propelled vehicles on the basis that they were once used "by a chariot".
Mr Paice said: "However, whenever commencement takes place there will remain the issue of the large number of outstanding claims, some 2000 of them. If all those cases, or even a significant proportion of them, are recorded as 'byways open to all traffic' the whole purpose of the new law would be useless."
He went on to propose that the Secretary of State should be required to review all of them and to issue Traffic Regulation Orders prohibiting motorised vehicles if there was evidence of damage to the natural environment, or they restricted use of the byway by other users”
So BliarOut won’t be able to “to watch some toffs ripping some foxes to bits while having a
in the old 4x4
