How far is Donnington from me
Discussion
I have been trying with no luck to get a route plan and distance from the AA route planner.
Im just off Junction 4 on the M25 and Donnington is J23 on the M1.
Any idea how far that is or how long it would take me legally. There is a big BMW show that I would like to go to but dont want to spend 90% of the day driving and only 10% of the day at the show so trying to work out if its worth going
Cheers

You're brave announcing that on PH!
I use: www.multimap.com/
Might be of more help.
The old way:
Get a road atlas.
Find the start and end points.
Find the scale, eg 4 miles to an inch.
Measure the route allowing for wiggles - convert that to miles.
Then look at the roads involved to guesstimate the average speed you can do.
No GPS, PDA, TomTom, laptop, internet wifi Blackberry jobbie required, just a road atlas and a ruler. £3.99 at Smiths

I need to look at my map as I can skip big chunks out of the M1 but its raining cats and dogs here and my maps are in the car in the garage
then you read the thread and see how silly you look
whenever you go there i hope you have more luck than me, when i went to watch the Moto GP there in july, got there and it rained and rained, was very cold and generally crap and knowing youve got to ride back to London in torrential rain wasnt fun at all, still im guessing your in a car so even if it does rain it would still be much more pleasant.
