I've just had a very weird experience. I was sitting at the hospital, waiting to see the doctor. There were about 6 other people there, all nattering about waiting times and the NHS (as you do). Suddenly and without any warning, this guy (probably late 50's/early 60's) sitting four feet away from me who was quite jovial and chatty not 30 seconds before closes his eyes and starts to fall off the chair. Realising that there was something wrong, we all call for the nurse. Twenty minutes, many doctors, nurses and equipment later it all goes quiet (we were all escorted to the next bay after a couple of minutes but still within earshot). I don't think the guy made it.
Just shows you you never know when your times up.
I don't mind admitted it's freaked me out a bit.

Live everyday as if its your last.
I should spend all my money and run up massive debts buying fast cars, faster women and generally having fun!?! Everyday!!! Wont that dry up after a few days?
Seriously though I might be weird but my own death doesn't scare me much. So I might die tomorrow...and? It's the idea that people I know might die that bothers me more...

Best to strike a balace though isn't it between really enjoying the moment, but also putting enough aside for the future to make sure that you can enjoy lots more moments if you end up living a long life.
It's right though, you never know when your numbers up.

Pah! Hows your no clames bonus....
:PIts a strange feeling isn't it. Took me a long while to get used to the feeling of people dying.
When someone dies in front of you its a whole different experience to people who die who you know or have heard about that die.
It has a strange effect on me of putting my worries, anxieties, and in fact the whole word in perspective.
Everything in the world, statesmen, governments, wars, love, life, desire, money, religion. Nothing is as important as the single act of birth or death. It just isn't.
