Stuck an item on fleabay & put in a reasonably lengthy description, all broken down in normal size paragraphs etc when written.

However when ad comes up the text is just a mass of words- not a paragraph in sight- so what did I do wrong then?

The ad-

Try changing font sizes and fonts, then add the paragaphs in again. See if that works.

Put <p> when you finish a paragraph. That's a start!

I have 7 items on ebay atm, and I just wrote the stuff out in word then copied and pasted into the text editor on ebay, no <p>'s - isn't that HTML formatting?

^^^ there is two editors
1) is the full editor
2) is the html editor

it defaults to (1) but if you cannot see that it will then switch to (2)

or use <br> to break the line

<b>this is a title of the object</b><br>
lots and lots of text sfdklsdfsdfsdfsdfsdf<br>
sfdsdfjhfsdf<br>

If you are on broadband download Turbolister from the ebay site (its a reasonable size download) - It's basically an offline tool for composing your ads.

I find it makes placeing ads much easier & you can check that its html formatted.

That's what Mrs. Kinky uses, and her knowlege of HTML you can write on the backside of a fly.

Another useful feature of Turbolister that i use is that it saves your listings so if you have repeat or similar items you can list/edit them much easier.

Use turbo lister, or if you know HTML write it using that. Easiest way.

I will say one thing though, you've seriously limited your target sales area with that advert!
