Watching X Factor I had noticed how much time they spend playing the X factor music, doing audience shots etc. Then I timed the acts: less than a minute and a half each.

Forgive me but surely it is about the talent, not the goons in the audience or the judges?

I have noticed this with a lot of these programmes: very litle substance, piles of link, repeated bits and general tripe. Are they just padding it out because they can't sing for 3 or 4 minutes?

The missus is watching this pile of cheap televised crud right now, I would imagine its cheap to produce TV that feeds on the middle age slappers (who will be the only group who buys the crappy inevitable singles when they come out) who frequent Chicago Rock wearing clothes an acting like someone half their age! A lot of this type about!
