Employee with no licence drives to work..
Discussion
Found out today that one of my employees has been borrowing his mum's car to drive to work .. he has no licence, insurance, permission etc
He's parking it around the corner then walking in. A couple of employees have seen him do it. When questioned he denies it
It's not really my problem I guess .. he's not driving whilst at work. But uninsured driving is a pet hate of mine. What should I do.....

I once had reason to visit my local nick to'sort' something out. I had to chat to a Detective Sergeant who was dealing with the case. I must admit to saying to the one of the coppers, that I wasn't sure if if I was entirely happy becoming that involved in things, to which he replied.....'had you have said nothing, people could have accused you of condoning such behaviour....' and went on to say that I had done the right thing.

if he run into your car/wife/kids what would you do then.
I don't usually agree with shopping people, no matter what my feelings are, but............... people like this are the reason our premiums go up year upon year, plus what the quote above states. I would ring anonymously to give plod a tip off. If he kills someone, their family not only loses a loved one, but they have to pay too!
Interesting.
So he's willing to take his mum's car without her permission. How long before he takes something from work without your permission?
Clearly a scrote and a part of the reason our premiums go up even when we keep our noses clean.
Shop him, then get rid and get someone who deserves the job.

I'd shop him. If you tell him you know he'll deny it and start parking somewhere else. Give the police the relevant information and let nature take its course.
The other issue is do you want someone as shit all stupid as that working for you?

As much as you think its "Not your problem", it is, you know he is in the wrong, its your moral duty to do something about it.
Not knocking you personally, but one of the biggest problems in this country right now is "Its not my problem" attitude. Example, "Well I knew he hung around kids and brought them sweets, but I didnt know he was a pedo", story made up of course, but that sort of thing does go on.
What if he runs down and kills your wife, no good telling your kids, "I knew, but it wasnt my problem".....
I would urge you to inform the relevant authorities.
john_p,
One last comment, you did mention he had no insurance, well if you are unfortunate enough to be knocked down by him, you'l have the satisfaction of lying in hospital knowing you cant claim off his insurance, coz he aint got none? but dont worry, it isnt your problem.
Now isnt that a good reason to shop him. God forbid it ever happens, but you cant be too sure these days.
Do the right thing john, may save someone some grief.
