I just cant play the Stone Roses without the volume creeping up and up, until I'm using nearly all of the 2kw on tap. Good job I'm detached! Which bands do you have this trouble with? . . .

I have and love that lot too. Except I can't find my orbital - the one with the orange weird illustration cover.

My kids don't understand: "Daddy, why do you have the music turned up so loud?" Me: "It is more realistic. If we had Killing Joke playing here in the kitchen, let me tell you it would be very, very loud."

I'm worried about my children, when they complain about the music being too loud.

I need to feel the bass with Merzbow - Merzbuddha, so tend to play this quite loud.

The same music that makes me drive faster also makes me go 'one louder' on the volume. Off the top of my head:

Kasabian
Muse
Green Day
Faith No More - The Real Thing, old but brilliant
Prodigy - Fat of the Land or Jilted Generation, though Always Outnumbered doesn't really hit the spot for me

Plenty of others too, but the above always have to be played very loud...

Edit: 406, ta for the reminder - Led Zep too.

Agree on the Foo fighters, Stereophonics are more pants than thongs on men, and twice as smelly!

Usual favourites like the ever cheerful Electric Wizard and Unerathly Trance, along with Pelican, Pentagram and Place of Skulls' wonderful cover of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". Very therapeutic when I'm in a foul mood.
