Hi guys,

Just wondering if there were any mobile phone experts around.

My V3 is using up so much battery power for no reason that i can discern. I will have it fully charged in the morning and then by the evening it will have no juice left.

I dont have bluetooth on either, and my battery is a new one.

What i think it might be, is this. by the bars that show reception there are three blue boxes, i have no idea what they are, and this could be causing excess power usage maybe?

Any ideas or advice would be greatly received :)

all the best

Not much help except to say this is definitely NOT normal for a V3 battery which has been properly charged.

Mind you the Bluetooth connectivity is rubbish.

Not helped by the fact that it all the menus and settings seem to work in mysterious ways for anyone used to Nokias.

I bought a Motorola V220 last year.

The first that was delivered, the battery wouldn't hold a charge.

The second that was delivered wouldn't read my SIM card.

The third that was delivered wouldn't hold a charge OR read my SIM card.

The forth that was delivered, I've put a piece of paper behind the SIM card or the phone won't read it, and the battery is only holding a charge for about 4 days (I rarely use my phone apart).

As soon as I can find a replacement NON Motorola phone within my budget that I like, I will throw this one away.

My advice to you would be, don't buy a Motorola, because they appear to be crap.

I'm not actually much use with phones - but is there a feature to return the settings to stock?

Are you using the telephone constantly for 13 hours a day?

I have a Motorola V600 and it has worked perfectly for over a year.
Perhaps your battery is jiggered and you need to buy a new one.

>Menu > Settings >Initial Setup - What are your time settings for display timeout and backlight???

Or try ..

Menu > Settings >Initial Setup> Master Reset ..

I think thats the one to reset factory settings .. just in case some batttery draining function is left on ??

Edited to add that I think this deletes the phone book and msgs ringtones etc ..

Adam, it's not just Motorola.

I think phone manufacturers have seriously lost the plot. A few months ago I received a call inviting me to stop in at my mobile shop and have a free handset upgrade. At this time I was using a 3 year old Nokia 6310i with approx 5 or 6 days of standby on the original battery.

On looking at the phones in the shop they were all unsuitable (complex/buttons too small/handset too small etc). I asked the sales person for a simple Nokia phone with the longest battery life. I got given a 6230. Within a month I'm on my third phone exchange because the battery only lasts 1.5 to 2 days between charges. How in the hell is this progress?
