phone help - Subsidy password???
Discussion
Hey. After having yet more phone troubles I've tried transfering my sim into a different phone. It accepts my Sim Card password and says "sim unlocked" and then goes on to ask me for a "subsidy password". It's definately not the same as my sim or "0000"!!!
Anyone know what it is and how I can get hold of it?!

It's basically the lock code to stop the handset working on other networks. I found a few forums saying that the provider will give you the code after the contract has expired, and that you can unlock it with software / appropriate cable.
I guess "subsidy password" because the operator subsidises the cost of the handset when you take out a contract.
Just google for "subsidy password" - most results seem to relate to Motorola handsets.
