Which new watch?
Discussion
Hey all,
I've been pondering over treating myself to a nice new watch for quite a while now, and feel like now is probably the best time to do it.
I've currently got a Rolex Yachtmaster which I've had for the last couple of years, and I generally wear for special occasions. I've also got a Tag Heuer Professional chrono watch, which I wear most of the time and has seen better days, and a selection of cheapies, such as a D&G and a Rocha.
I find the Rolex a bit plain as it's not a chrono model, and it also doesn't keep time as well as I would have expected for the cash (no, I've not been fobbed off with a fake). The Tag (2nd-hand when I got it) is probs near the end of it's useful life, and I've been offered a good price for the Rolex.
All in, I've got around £4k to spend on a new watch, although it doesn't necessarily have to cost as much as that if the right one comes along. The question is, what would be a good replacement for what I have?
I want something that has inner-dials as well as the main dial, as I prefer the style far more. I want to use it as my daily watch, and so I'd like something that's gonna be pretty hardwearing and strong.
So far I've looked at a Breitling Crosswind as well as a Breitling Emergency (cool, even though I'd never 'need' it), but I liked the look of an IWC I saw a guy wearing at the weekend - chunky without looking silly (like rappers/footballers favourite, Jacob & Co).
I'd be grateful for any advice or suggestions that anyone has on this subject, as I'm not as 'up' on watches as I was a couple of years ago. If I don't update soon, then I'm worried the cash is gonna get blown on a Plasma telly.
Cheers in advance,
Adam

That is beautiful! How much would one of these be?
I've looked at a Rolex Daytona but, IIRC, it was out of my price-range (think it was circa £6k).
The Breitling Navitimer is lovely but I'm in two minds about it; half the time I think it looks absolute class, and the other half of the time I think it looks a little too old-fashioned and ostentatious for a 24-year old to wear. Must confess I haven't had a good look at one in the 'flesh' though.

I have this one (the chrono only has 120m water resistance. This has 20o0m ):

PS £2600 is very cheap for these watches.
£2,365 for your model, which again does seem like good value. Do you rate your watch as being good? How long have you had it? I absolutely love the look of these IWC watches, but know nothing about them.
P.S. You weren't by any chance at the BMW Better Driving Day at Croft a couple of months back, were you? Seem to remember the car from your profile, and think I might have spoken to you too.

Formex4Speed DS2000 limited edition (499 being made)
It's not your average Swiss watch and I'd love one

I saw a Formex watch in stuff magazine a few months back. It was lovely, looked a bit like the IWC models (perhaps a bit sportier) but had a yellow face and fancy titanium-style strap. Think it was just under a grand, but imagined it wouldn't be top-drawer for that price as it seemed too good to be true (based on general watch prices).
