Yes I have.

No it didn't help and wasn't worth the money.

My experiences were the exact opposite of this.

Based on what you have said previously, I would say it's definitely worth a try in your case.

Just make sure you find someone good.

Yes I have, I tried it eighteen months ago after the end of a long term relationship as I'd lost the ability to see the "light at the end of the tunnel" having always previously had the conviction that things always turn out OK.

I had four sessions and from the first session felt more relaxed and able to cope with life and the changes that I was going through. I found the sessions very very helpful. The hypnotherapist I saw gave me a CD to play as well and I still use this at night if I have trouble sleeping.

Happy Snapper also went to the same therapist for a few sessions, he was very stressed and had high blood pressure which he was unable to control. He also found the therapy very helpful and his blood pressure stabilised. He had previously made other dietary changes etc. and this had helped but he'd not managed to bring his BP back to "normal" until the therapy.

As a spin off of it - he'd previously struggled to sleep and had always woken at 4 or 5 am and not been able to get back to sleep. This disappeared from the first session and has not returned.

It may well be "all in the mind" but it certainly worked for both of us.

To be fair, a friend of mine who smoked 40 Marlboro day was told by his wife to choose betweem them and her.

He went to a hypnotist and was pretty much cured overnight. Remarkable.

I use a hypnotism technique that seems to work.

A friend of mine was scared of her wife-beating ex, to the point that she had panic attacks thinking of him. I helped her to stop fearing him.

I started studying hypnosis - can get people into a deep trance but I am some way to making them think they are a chicken (or lamb, beef, whatever takes your fancy)

Its fairly subjective, can work on some, not on others. Basic principle is that if you believe it is not going to work and you convince yourself it is not going to work - it simply will not work. Same way that you cannot by hypnotised into killing your neighbor or giving the hypnotist all your life savings - if you are not a semi-willing participant it will not happen.

Read up on it first, should give you an insight as to whehter it will work on you or not

Never really tried it but 3 months ago gave up the weed simply through will power,i guess i was lucky although i didnt fancy paying ££££££££££££££'s to someone to tell me not to do something i knew i shouldnt be doing.

I guess a fear/phobia like the one you describe is closely related to the emotional side of where you are at in your life and if you recognise the fear/Phobia is "only" something that is irrational and out of context due to your lack of control over it then if you can rationalise with some positive thinking this could help....easier said than done!

These days this hypnotherapy stuff comes in many disguised packages eg; "Mind Management" something i would like to look at in the future,i need a good download and tune up.

I had it to give up smoking a few years ago and gave up for about 18 months. The problem was that I did exactly what the hypnotherapist told me not to do, namely to have the odd fag while I was out because I would train myself to smoke again and that's what happened.

I would do it again, just trying to get my weight down so the weight gain from giving up isn't quite as catastrophic!

PS. I don't believe in it anyway or any other alternative therapies.
