Someone in the office has just asked me how much my air fare to Canada was last year, because they want to go to Australia, and Australia is close to Canada!!!!

Make sure they don't fall off the end of the world on their way to Oz.

Well, in a way they're closer to us than any European country; ie they speak English and are part of the Commonwealth.

Actually, do we still have a Commonwealth or did Brown sell it?

Has Easyjet started to fly to either destination yet ?

When someone asks such a stupid question, you should always pretend they are very sane, but lie anyway.

My trip to Canada cost £35, but I think you should be able to get to Oz for about 2500 quid.

Actually, this puts me in mind of the "great circle maps".

Which direction do you suppose would you leave the british isles in, flying in a straight line all the way to reach Australia by the shortest route?

Surely not, try www.dialaflight.com I suspect something in the region of 5 to 600 quid max.

Probably 2500 if you book direct with the likes of BA, I once booked a single to KL, through said dialaflight, cost 520 quid, tried to book back from Singapore, they wanted 1200 SINGLE, got an agency in UK to get me a return for 550, (Not your usual agency, one for the firm I worked for - but nevertheless there are cheap flights to be had)

If my dad had gone in the 50's with the mass emmigration, it would only have cost him a tenner as well..........

Down. Obviously, a very big hole would need to be dug first
