Can you toast the seeds of marrows in the same way that you can with pumpkin or butternut squash seeds? I know they're from the same family, but never heard of it being done.

Only one way to find out. Go on, be a pioneer and report back.

Roasted, and with some seasoning, they're tasty.

Excellent thanks chaps - good result

Will stick them in later with dinner.

406 - try it. Easiest way is to toast a mixture of (bought) sunflower and pumpkin seeds, either in the oven, or by stirring them round in a dry pan over the hob, until they start to become golden brown (might hear the odd one pop too). Take them off the heat and splash soy sauce over them, stir and leave to cool. Lovely.

They always go quicker than nuts or crisps if you put them out at parties. I do them with a honey (or brown sugar), soy and chilli mixture occasionally, though to be honest that's better with toasted almonds.

Does toasting reduce the strong laxative qualities of pumpking seeds ??- the last time I ate a few handfuls .... the consequences were rather unfortunate.
