i read in the paper the other day that Ken Livingston has decided hes going to widen the congestion charge zone in 2007 despite over 75% of people saying they are against it, this should now be a clear indication that he isnt a politician who listens to the people and is jst inforcing his personal dislike for car use in London, so when is the next election for London Mayor? i hope its not too long Livingstone makes my blood boil hes 5 times worse than Blair, as i said before about him i really hope he steps out in front of an SUV one day and thats the end of him poetic justice you could say.

Well unless he commits political suicide he'll be voted in again - so don't waste your breath, leave London like everyone else!

Think you'll find the votes are already pre-printed & stored in a small factory unit somewhere in Birmingham. Apparently Livingston wins.

Oh ..................... & he wins the one after that as well.

It will be a cold day in hell before a Labour candidate loses the London Mayoral election.

Ah you've gotta love Ken. How much of our money was spent advertising the "Have your say" campaign about the CC expansion, only for him to completely ignore the results. Who said Ken didn't subscribe to the New Labour ideology!

He was the unofficial Labour candidate, and former Labour leader of the GLC, that doesn't change the essential truth about London it will remain for the foreseeable future a Labour Stronghold.

No he wasn't. He was an independent candidate, Dobson was the Labour candidate, in fact Ken had been expelled from the Labour party at that time.

Dobson was crushed. The only reason Ken remains as leader is that the Conservative party have no credibility, as it has been lead by a succession of cretins.

I don't subscribe to the view that the Conservative party will only regain power when it can conquer the inner cities.

The cities contain disproportionate numbers of ethnic minorities, the young and the poor, groups which throughout the western world, right wing parties do poorest among.

Hence no matter who is the candidate I cannot see a Conservative becoming mayor, even if the Conservatives achieve a national swing in their favour which returns them to power.
