I understand why we have them, and the whole concept its just the numbering.

To get home, I use the number 63 bus. But theres another number 63 bus, which goes in the other direction, and on a completely and a totally different route. Then theres the X63, that also goes a different route. And finally, the number 63B bus, which again takes a different route.

Why, when bus numbers go up to and over the likes of the number 355 bus, do they have 4 buses going different routes all called the 63? Surely it is confusing for the "older generation"?

Can't they just call the others the 64, 65 and 66 route buses? There are so many gaps between bus route numbers, so use them!

Unfortunately I now have a bus pass for the next week...thankfully I'm only in uni for 5 full weeks this year so wont have them day in day out very much!

No the smell wasn't me...it may well have been the old lady sat next to me. They always seem to pick me to sit next to for some reason!

Yes, just like lining up empty cans of special brew and smiling and nodding to people on the train will guarantee you an empty seat, either that or make you some very special friends.

I went to catch a bus the other day, looked at the timetable and it indicated one would be along in a minute, so I waited twenty then started walking, another twenty minutes later, just as I was ariving at my destination, so did the bus.

That's why I normally drive.

Public transport is all well and good in big cities, but out here in the provinces it truly sucks....

But only when/if it works and is actually used.

The few times I try to use public transport in Bristol I invariably end up totally disillusioned with the entire system and give up.

During the day, all the busses whizz around empty and get ahead of themselves on their timetables, so you end up waiting for ages. During peak hours, they all get held up filling up with hordes in the centre so (a) you end up waiting for ages and (b) by the time they crawl their way 1 mile out of the centre, they're all full and either don't stop or don't let you on anyway. Great.

Who cares about bus numbers? Just use your car or bike instead and stare at the poor people inside as you glide by

What annoys me is when I get on a bus and other people keep stopping the bus ! Don't these people realise I want to get home as fast as possible? Why can't it just go straight to my stop?

Are you sure the number 63 bus 'that goes the other way' is not simply the same service on its retirn journey?
