Yes, but he bailed out of that one after the impact... Just pointing out that you can bail out after a crash...

I watched some of this show when it was originally aired. Apparently he landed near a pub and went in for a few beers.
Sounds my sort of bloke

Ah, I didn't think of that! Had image of big smoking hole in ground from which parachute suddenly deploys...

Yup, I think the 'impact' that the article's talking about is the collision with the Dornier.

Chop up Gerry, paracute from 350ft, cut self from parachute, kiss girls, go to pub, go to barracks, few drinks, back to base - what an example to us all!
