I do a little advertising for my business using an 0845 number.

My problem: The person that supplied it to me is unreliable (as is the number, which doesnt always work). I cant contact her. Have been trying for months. Hence, I would like to buy the next one from an established larger company and not through one of the millions of resellers.

Who do I contact though? My last 0845 number was free to use without limitation, I only paid the yearly fixed rate subscription. I just contacted BT who said that if I wanted an 0845 number from them, Id be charged the quarterly fee plus 4p per minute.

Where else can I get an 0845 number, which is free to use and not through a small reseller?

Why bother? Like many people I have a calling package which gives me calls to 'normal' numbers for free. Make it 0845 or 0870 and I will have to pay to call you. So unless you're ashamed of where you live, I'd leave it alone.

I advertise nationally, and would'nt want to miss out on the sales I close, with clients who initially called looking for a "local company"

I need an 0845, will have to stick with the reliability of the company I choose for life, and just need a recommendation. Help... anyone?

www.opaltelecom.co.uk/

Owned by Carphone Warehouse. Utterly reliable. However 0845 will I doubt be 'free'. The deal you have is too good! Probably why it is so unreliable!

I'd recommend www.nongeographicnumbers.com/ -
I have an 0870 number with them, and the turnaround time on any contact with them (whether by e-mail or phone) is amazingly quick.

Not sure what they'd be like for 0845 numbers though.
