Next door neighbour ( an old witch methinks) has recently got a cat and must have trained the little fecker to leave its little parcels of ex whiskas all over my lawn in the back garden.

Obviously I wish to discourage the little b'stard from doing this and as I havent got a dog ( nor want one) I'm after ideas from you guys, some that really work would be helpful.

Not being a cat lover I was toying with the idea of poisoning the thing with weedkiller soaked liver, or putting up some snares but I have a large family of hedgehogs living under the shed that look after the slug problem for me and I want to avoid harming anything else but the guilty party.

An air rifle would also be a solution but the Mrs would kill me if she found out that I had harmed the thing, and its difficult to explain a rifle and a snipers lair to the Mrs if she discovered it.

So any ideas ?

Cheers,

Tony

My neighbours cat will recieve the same if it scratches my car roof or kills one more bird in my garden

We have the same problem, a local moggy seems to think that underneath my wife's car is the perfect place to recycle Shergar.

You could try peeing in your garden, or getting a friendly dog/fox/lion to do it for you.

I've taken to shaking aromatic granules (from B&Q) and it seems to have worked, though I'm waiting for a smelly shoe to prove me wrong.

Meanwhile, try here: www.deteracat.co.uk/

Went to school with an evil lad who came round one day to "startle" a cat.

Turned up with a big ex-cigarette aluminium can, 60 feet of electrical cable, a plug and some fuse wire.

....and some powder.....

Buried the can down the garden, attached plug to one end of cable and joined the two wires at t'other end with fuse wire, which he inserted in the can.

The cable had a switch near the plug. He plugged the cable into the mains. We waited.....

Half an hour later, along came moggy, sniffing around the garden.

When it was close(ish) to the buried can, he pressed the switch......

Can exploded with a dull wuuuuuuuump......

Soil flew in all directions.......

Did you know cats can do 0 - 60 in about two seconds......?

maybe not a good idea to repeat at the moment......

If I found out my neighbors were getting violent with my cats things would start to happen.

You could try a water pistol? Doesn't harm them. Chase them out, most soon get the message?

Edited to add, the parents have just installed one of those ultrasonic scarers and it seems to work. Works off a pir.

Ive got a similar sort of problem with a Giant Rat in my Garden, the little/Big sod comes across from the fields and sits on top of the fence staring at me but he's OK as long as he stays outside and of course his deposits are no where near the size of a cats,i would try making some windmill type things to go in the garden that make a noise and reflect, they might put the cat off.

You could catch said animal and present it with a dilemma - apply hottest possible mustard to cats arse, it then wants to lick it off as its burning but can't because it tastes horrendous....

Mustard should only ever be applied to a hot dog......

I can rephrase this without the diplomacy just to make it hit home.

If I found out my neighbours were getting violent with my cat, I would be violent back.
And to scale; if they are roughly 15 times the mass of the cat, I would beat them 15 times harder.

Eye for an eye 'n' all that.

Getting back on topic, if you want to deter the moggy just buy a water pistol. Its a well known fact cats hate water. Job done and no conflict.

Anyone who would harm a animal over something so stupid must be a very evil person i'm afraid.

Water pistols etc, are an immediate answer, if there are no sharp flat stones to hand.
But a healthy kick up the cats arse, is both beneficial to the cat, and spiffing fun, for the kicker.

If cat owners are so perturbed, over the rights and wrongs of instant kitty-justice, they might keep them in and let them use a tray.

anyway the waste of fur, is atrocious

Is the adhesion to cats fur, enhanced then when thrown in big enough clods?

I could stop collecting horse pooh if thats the case.
