The proper way to do it is on www.google.co.uk and then type in the search and hit the 'I'm feeling lucky' button which always brings up the top search.

Try the ultimate vanity test:

Type your own name into Google in the form "John Smith" and see where you come!

Much to my annoyance I come second, unless I put the "Professor" in front, in which case I get the right result!

(No cheating with UK only searches!)
