Urgh, I think everyone needs to lighten up...it's 15 minutes of beautiful fireworks.
Maybe it's time they burnt weed into the atmosphere

disclaimer: I am by no means condoning the use of illegal drugs

Will the current young generation be like this when we grow up?

My dog used to love fireworks! Would get really excited watching them and if there was more than one display going on in people's gardens he'd rush up and down the street to see them all!

I like your style!

"Should we complain about that noise? It's bloody loud."

"Nah - Can't be bothered. Anyway, who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house?"

(See Bill Hicks for further examples of weed-induced lethargy).

And today, Fife Council leaders have ordered schools, leisure centres and community centres not to allow anyone using their premises to hire inflatable bouncy castles for parties, fêtes and gala days. Too dangerous apparently

thats the best idea ever and as a knock-on effect could probably be the only way any sort of 'world peace' could ever be reached......the only problem afterwards would be the sudden massive price-rises in chocolate hob-nobs,kinder buenno bars and cheech and chong movies.....plus all the hippies suddenly taking up skydiving and dropping bongs on your head from 20,000ft!

Whilst they do sound like miserable whiners the comment on refugees isn't as mad as it sounds. When my mum was helping out teaching some newly arrived Bosnian refugees a few years ago, four US Navy F/A-18Cs did a fly by in rehersal for the Grand Prix and these kids threw themselves under their desks and refused to come out for quite a while until they had been doubly reassured they weren't about to be bombed. They were just out of the war in Bosnia though.

Just shows that they should have been given some lessons in aircraft recognition then.

If I was a 10 year old kid, I would have had my nose pressed against the window.

Given that Canterbury is something of a Marijuana capital, I wouldn't be surprised if they were!

I didn't think that the US Navy were bombing Bosnians. I thought they were bombing Serbians.

In fact, when I was in Yugoslavia back in 1989 I was amazed to see air raid warning signs everywhere. They were onbviously a jumpy nation even then and I bet kids were given air raid drills etc in school.

Also, have you ever heard the tales of London ten year old boys during air raids?

newspaper should have said:
"There are also asylum seekers living in Canterbury, was it fair to remind these freeloaders of the pyrotechnics they let off when they realised that they now had an easy life."

Stating the obvious but... Its business as usual for papers, whose role is to weave tosh into mildly acceptable copy, and dramatize absolutely everything as much as possible.

Newspapers are like the P&P, but without the mods.

Love the weedsmoke idea Lois
