Parcelforce took £65 off my card for a Euro 48 service from Bristol to Dublin yesterday. The buggers failed to turn up (I left work at 645pm) This morning I get shoved from pillar to post being told to contact the collections depot that opens at 11 am!!!!!! Now they have rebooked the collection for "sometime today" and insisted re charging my card another £65 (its the system mate) and crediting the original charge.

Completely useless.

Dont use them.

Contrast to Initial Citylink who, after screwing up admin on delivering my laptop, meaning it would be 24 hours late (their vans go out in the morning and it had been left behind due to someone forgetting to weigh it and log it), asked one of their drivers who lived in the area to drop it off at my home address on his way home in the evening so that I would have it in time for my flight in the morning. Awesome service.

Never had a problem with Parcel Force... at least they actually deliver to my flat... unlike Initial City-Stink who said "we can't find your place" (it's a six storey block of flats that has been there for 25 years and is the tallest building for 15 miles )... to which I was told "oh yeah, we don't deliver to flats.."

A certain regal postal company 'attempted' to deliver an important contract to my brother's address which required a signature.

So, instead of ringing the bell and collecting the signature they just push the 'you have a parcel waiting' note through the letterbox without even bothering to ring the doorbell.

How do I know they didn't ring the bell? My brother was in at the time and went to check the post and saw the note and heard no bell.

And then a week later they do exactly the same thing even after my bro had complained.

Useless.

Ive had several times from Parcel Force. Ive also had them just not bother sticking the thing through the door and had stuff returned to the sender.

I live in a flat, and they happily delivered.

Guess it depends on the driver, whether he goes up five flights of stairs to get it to you, or chucks it under a bush and goes home for tea.

I've had repeated problems... just shows that it's the staff in the local depot...

EDIT - the flats have a secure entrance, and basically they can't be bothered to ring the "trade" button so that someone can collect it... or apparently leave a card

Yes - bloody brilliant (and true). 'Just redeliver it or put it in a skip - I know its not worth anything because you haven't stolen it!'

Postie often simply pops a card through my door without trying to deliver the parcel - once I caught him - he said he didn't have it with him as it had only just come in! Lying git just didn't want to carry it around!

I used to know a guy who worked for ParcelFarce, he said they used to just chuck parcels in the bin or a ditch somewhere if they were late delivering them because they knew that no-one at the office would bother investigating if the customer complained.

He also said that anything marked "fragile" came in for an especially good kicking round the warehouse.

DHL are not much better however, I once sent a computer to Greece and despite it being packed better than it was from the shop, they managed to break it. And tried to charge me £215 for the privilege. Luckily it was insured and I argued over the carriage fee, they generously said they'd reduce it to £120 and I told them no way. Got my money back.

What makes me angry is being lied to. I was waiting for a parcel and the delivery monkey swore blind he'd repeatedly rung the door bell... Which he must have first installed as we don't have a door bell!

On another ocassion I got a card through the door saying I hadn't been in and to collect it from the depot. I went down to the depot at 1.15pm to be told the postie with the parcel wouldn't be back in untill 2pm (fair enough) so I said i'd return at 2pm only to be told that the office closes at 1.30pm

When I was younger I did a few shifts in delivery warehouse, packing / unpacking lorries, basically stuff is thrown in or out of the lorry, boxes with 'this way up' or 'fragile' on mean nothing.

Nice. This is why I absolutely despise these people. They have no respect for other people's property.

Bet if I went round their house and set about their car with a length of pipe they'd be a bit miffed. However, a valid excuse would presumably be "Who cares? Its not my car".

Gah, I despair. Is there no pride in anything nowadays in this country?

Actually when I worked in one of these places 'fragile' generally meant it was lighter so you could throw it further up the lorry.
