Can anyone tell me what the currency is for Southern Ireland? I'm off to Dublin on Thursday and I've got one person telling me it's Euros and others saying it's the Irish Punt.

Also, any nice restaurants/bars/places to go in Dublin that I should try?

Euros for the past few years.

And even though I hate to sound pedantic, there is no such political entity as Southern Ireland - it's the Irish Republic or Eire.
If you refer to Dublin being in "Southern Ireland" when you are there, at the very least you will get extremely dirty looks.

A very nice restaurant in Dublin is Eliza Blues, www.elizablues.com/
We went there a year or so ago, very friendly service and fantastic food. The restaurant also overlooks the Liffey and Millenium bridge.

How about mentioning those brothels you told me you used to visit and, eventually, got banned from?

Especially as some parts of Eire are north of some parts of Northern Ireland.

Like Malin Head, County Donegal - the most northerly point in the whole island of Ireland.

, harsh but fair.

I've had worse. At a training course in Manchester, a member of the Indian community, on hearing we had our own language, was curious to know how well we could speak Arabic?!

Theres always one.
