I saw it for the first time last night, bloody fantastic! Cant remember what the PH opinion was when it was in theatres (didnt get to see it myself) but whilst the first two movies left a lot of fans only partly satisfied, episode three left me feeling very much like I felt at the end of Empire - brilliant! :cloud9:

The last movie I saw, I think, was The Grudge. I have no life.

I thought I and II were a bit crap to be honest. With II being especially dull.

Thank goodness III just got on with telling the story. Set the scene nicely for IV/V VI I thought. Genuinely not bad as a prequel...unlike the previous two!

It was allot better than the first two prequels, but that is not hard!!!

Some great action scenes, and set's the stage nicely for the TRUE Star Wars trilogy.

It is let down by some fundamental flaws in the plot.

Agreed, it was good, to an extent, I did feel with the last 3 new movies that it was akin to eating your way through all your favourite sweets 'till you were almost sick, just too many special effects and no plot, leaving you feel empty, even though you think you've seen all the best effects the movie guys can muster! Not enough emotional meat!

Agreed

It takes more than special effects to make a good film.

I thought it wa s abit lame, just like the forst 2. they seemed to put in a load of cgi as filler. The worst, and I mean one of the worst moments in cinematic history, was the part where Black helet man shouted "Nooooooooooo!!" in a Homeresque fashion. very bad! I was expecting something with a bit more to it than the forst 2, but the only redeeming feature was seeing darth strut his stuff... for 5 minutes...

When I watched Episode III in the cinema I really enjoyed it, appart from extra quick swtiching of sides by Mr Skywalker. I was really impressed by all the little things that were tied up at the end, such as how the Jedi's can come back from the dead so to speak which occurs in the original trilogy.

However after thinking about it and talking to others who were obviously analising it too much when they were watching it, it could have and should have been soo much better. There is just too manythings which can be picked appart in it.

Overall though I really enjoyed it and as long as you don't think about it too much it's great + much better than the first 2!

the only plot problem i have with 1-3 is in 2 with the purchase of the storm troppers.

what let the jedi knights down ultimately wasn't the dark side - it was sloppy accounting.

Someone sent a puchase order for a million storm troopers!

Now dont get me wrong but that must be a serious failure in the purchasing department to let that invoice go through unchecked "10 crates of beer - CHECK, 2 new light sabres - CHECK, 1,000,000 Storm Troopers - CHECK".

if we consider it costs £25k pa to lock up a criminal in this country (so we'll use that as a base) and storm troopers took 10 years to grow, then we are talking of an invoice total of £250,000,000,000).

i mean lets face it, the chancellor had to use all his jedi powers just to stop that invoice being seen. i mean can you imagine trying to hide a £250bn invoice in the accounts?!? committee after committee have got to have their minds massaged so that they don't see it.

but it must go further than that. if they didn't have the £250bn in their current account, lets face it - the guys who you owe the money to have a million foot soldiers who could be reprogrammed as bailiffs at their hands, so you may have to borrow the money. Now there is no way you can mind wash a whole bank. and if you bankrupted the bank - i mean - you have millions of people to mindwash.

"the bank is still solvent".

so i just feel that this is an epic plot problem.

or we could just believe that the guys growing the storm troopers took credit. but the republic are a first time customer.

"yes, for our first order we'd like 1m troops". "yes sir not a problem - who would you like to pay", "can we open an account?"

I just don't see it.

at the end of the day, Yoda needed to spend less time using the force to figure things out - cause its not like he was very good in the first place - and more time leading his organisation so that huge laps in the administration didn't go un-noticed. quite simply, the information was there in front of him. he was just a bad administrator.
